If you or your group practice participates in Medicare’s Electronic Prescribing Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO), you can avoid a 2014 payment adjustment if you meet reporting requirements by June 30.

In 2014, a 2 percent penalty will be applied to individual eligible professionals and groups who did not successfully use electronic prescribing in 2012 and did not meet specified requirements between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2013.

You may qualify for a hardship exemption, but the deadline for hardship applications is also June 30. Find details about exemptions, including those associated with G codes, and more about the e-prescribing penalty at the CMS website.
