Earlier this month, the governor signed SEA 246, passed with ISMA support; it now becomes law in our state. The measure tasks the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana with creating standards and protocols for the prescribing of controlled substances, with protections for physicians, and sets up a summer study committee on methadone clinics, action urged by the ISMA as a result of a 2012 convention resolution.
