The March 8 Federal Register contained a notice about a new version of the federal I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form that employers must start using by May 7. This new form has a revision date on the bottom left corner that reads: Form I-9 03/08/13 N.
You must retain the form and its attachments for the period of a staff member’s employment with your practice – and possibly up to three years. You need not complete the new form for your current staff if a properly completed form is already on file in your office.
