As children go back to school, now is a good time to remind parents they can view and print their child’s immunization records through MyVaxIndiana. The new web program, launched in July, is a part of the Children and Hoosier’s Immunization Registry Program (CHIRP).
All you need to do is provide the patient a personal identification number (PIN), granting specific access to the record they have requested. The information may then be accessed from any computer. Already, approximately 10,000 PIN numbers have been issued.
To access the records, a patient can log onto the secure MyVaxIndiana website, enter the PIN number you have provided, along with the child’s date of birth. The site provides immunization history, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s ACIP Immunization Schedule. The information can be downloaded, printed or faxed.
MyVaxIndiana also offers you a quick user guide, along with cards to help patients keep track of their PIN. Find them here.
