The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) needs you to serve on local Child Fatality Review Teams. Under a new state law, the DCS must establish 18 regional teams that include physicians.
Each regional team needs a
- Pediatrician or family physician
- EMS representative who could be an emergency physician
- Pathologist
- Mental health representative who could be a psychiatrist
“Child death review is a multidisciplinary process that can help us better understand why child fatalities occur within the community, and to help us identify how we can prevent future deaths,” explained John Ryan, chief of staff for the Indiana Department of Child Services.
