Delegates you send to the ISMA convention spend your dues dollars. Take time now to ensure your delegates vote for the resolutions that reflect your concerns and merit spending your organization’s limited resources to achieve.

You likely have opinions about these issues, addressed in this year’s 56 resolutions:

  • Legalizing marijuana
  • Repealing the Obama health care reform law
  • Eliminating methadone clinics in Indiana
  • Allowing radiology assistants to practice under radiologists’ supervision
  • Making non-compete agreements (per se) invalid in Indiana
  • Collecting body mass index on Indiana students

The issues touch your life every day. They impact your patients and your community. Do you want others to decide these issues without voicing your own thoughts and concerns?

Steps to take now
Your delegate to the convention casts YOUR vote on resolutions. As a member, you have the right to direct that vote. Make certain your delegate(s) will be in attendance to speak for you and colleagues in your area. Then make sure they know how your county physicians want them to vote on each resolution.

While all ISMA members are welcome to attend convention, here’s how you can contribute to the 2013 agenda of the ISMA even if you’re unable to travel to Indianapolis:

  • First, review the resolutions on the enclosed insert and determine how you’d vote on each one.
  • Then find delegate(s) from your county on this list.* Locate their contact information in the ISMA Member Directory.
  • Next, contact those delegates to discuss how you’d like them to vote when they attend convention.

Whether you are a delegate or an ISMA member, register for this year’s convention at the beautiful new JW Marriott in Indianapolis from Sept. 14 through 16.

*The delegate listing is updated regularly as convention approaches. Check back or call the ISMA if you cannot identify your county delegate.

Pictured are candidates who have expressed their intention to run for office. Additional nominations may be made from the floor of the House of Delegates at either the opening session on Friday, Sept. 14, or early Sunday morning, Sept. 16.
