This fall, you have two opportunities to help shape ISMA policy and direct legislative efforts. Here’s how. Untitled document
Two important dates
  • July 16
    Deadline to submit resolutions
  • Sept. 14-16
    The ISMA’s
    Annual Convention,
    JW Marriott,
    Downtown Indianapolis

Resolutions
First, if you are concerned about an issue, consider introducing a resolution. An online tutorial can help you here.

Resolutions are considered first by reference committees and then by the House of Delegates. If passed, they become ISMA policy. But don’t forget, resolutions must be submitted to the ISMA by Monday, July 16.

If you have questions, call the ISMA at (800) 257-4762 or (317) 261-2060.

Plan to attend
Second, participate in the ISMA annual convention Sept. 14-16 at the JW Marriott, downtown Indianapolis. The event gives you the chance to express your viewpoints on issues in reference committees. Delegates then may debate those issues on the House floor.

Find details on the ISMA convention page.

Honor a colleague, layperson with one of three ISMA awards
Each year, the ISMA offers you a chance to honor a colleague and lay person who have volunteered admirably in their communities in many ways.

Nominations are now being accepted for the ISMA’s:

  • Physician Community Service Award
  • Patient Health Advocate Award
  • Dr. Kathleen Galbraith Legacy Leadership Award

All nominations must include documentation, including a letter acknowledging the nominee’s qualifications. The deadline is Friday, June 15. Awards will be presented during the ISMA’s House of Delegates, Sept. 16.

Find criteria for all three awards here.
