The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is requiring the state’s Medicare carrier, National Government Services (NGS), to conduct an annual recertification of all current Medicare online system users for:
- Part A Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS)/Direct Data Entry (DDE)
- Medicare Part B Professional Provider Telecommunications Network (PPTN)
- Durable medical equipment (DME) Claim Status Inquiry (CSI)
This process involves all user IDs for you, your staff or third parties you have authorized to access NGS systems on your behalf.
This recertification must be completed by Nov. 30, 2011. Failure to complete recertification by the deadline will result in a disruption of your Medicare online system access.
To recertify online
You should have received an authorization access code via email; the codes were emailed to all applicable providers/suppliers early in October. If you did not receive an email with access codes for your user IDs, contact the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Help Desk at (877) 273-4334.
Once you receive your access code, go here.
Enter your access code in the form field, select enter and follow the onscreen prompts. Once your recertification is complete, you will receive email confirmation.
