Last year, Ailleen Stiller, M.D., was chosen to receive ISMA’s Medical Mission Scholarship, which helped her provide medical care to people in Guatemala.

If you are planning a medical mission trip, consider applying for the 2012 scholarship. Each year, the ISMA grants up to $3,000 to help members defray the cost of mission trips.

Nominations will be accepted from Sept. 1 to Nov. 1, 2011. A recipient will be selected by random drawing. Applicants must obtain the endorsement of their county medical society or Alliance to be considered. Application letters and endorsements should be forwarded to the ISMA and should include:

• Your name, address, email and phone number
• Dates and location of proposed trip
• Information about other sponsors and/or mission coordinators
• Appropriate documentation, including expense details
