The 2008 session of the Indiana General Assembly came to a close Friday, March 14. The legislature adjourned for the year in the evening, well ahead of the midnight deadline. The session was dominated by several bills regarding property tax and local government reform.
This issue of Legislative News provides you with an update on bills that were reported throughout this session and were successful. The issue also includes a "Legislative Morgue" listing the bills that did not pass through the session.
The ISMA Government Relations staff thanks ISMA President Jon Marhenke, M.D., ISMA Commission on Legislation (COL) Chair Mike Mellinger, M.D., ISMA COL members, and other ISMA leadership for their assistance this session.
In addition, many thanks to the hundreds of ISMA members who communicated with their legislators this session via email, letter, phone and personal contact.
