During
this interactive session, both the 1995 and 1997 CMS guidelines will be
reviewed to help
attendees determine the most appropriate one to use. Attendees will review
proper documentation for
the key components of history, examination and medical decision-making and
review contributory
factors based on counseling, time and coordination of care.
Attendees will learn when and why to issue an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN).
They will learn,
step-by-step, how to complete an ABN and options for its delivery.
Attendees will cover the basics of a self-audit, including: Who should conduct
the audit,
frequency of audits, selection of number and type of encounters to audit, four
basic items for audit
review and follow-up education for staff.
Included with presentation: manual, light breakfast and lunch. Bring
your 2012 CPT coding book.
