Basic CPT Coding - 2-Day Session

Did you receive your coding training on the job? Do you know one of the coding guidelines is: Do not select a CPT code that merely approximates the service provided? Are you aware many instructions in the CPT book lead you to alternative codes to describe the service provided?

Join other beginning coders in this interactive seminar designed to strengthen your skills. At the end of the two days, you'll be more confident in selecting the proper code to describe the service, increase your familiarity with the code book, know where to look for guidelines in each section and understand how to quickly use the code book "helps."

At the end of this program you should be able to:

  • Differentiate CPT structures and how they are used
  • Explain the structure, format and conventions of the CPT code book
  • Identify valuable resources to help with coding
  • Describe the various sections of CPT
