Maintaining certification

Because of the high standards and technical expertise required of a Medical Business Specialist, certification must be maintained through continuing professional development programs.

To maintain certification, you must attend 20 hours of continuing education every two years. The topics of the seminars you attend must relate to your duties in the medical office.

Educational sessions may be sponsored by ISMA or other approved entities.
